Video of Abby

So I finally took some video of Abby doing some of her cute stuff. She loves to sing songs (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star & The Itsy Bitsy Spider) and she knows different parts of her face....so I couldn't resist taking video and posting it :) I hope you enjoy it. My favorite is the way she says "nose" and the cute face she makes when I tell her smile or she knows the camera is on her. Hope you enjoy it too!

The Right Cup

Ok, so I have learned that you should always use the right type of measuring cup when you're cooking. There are measuring cups for "dry" ingredients and measuring cups for "wet" ingredients. When I have dry ingredients in whatever I'm making I typically "cheat"and use the same measuring cup if instead of getting another one dirty.


For example, once a week or so I make pancakes for Abby and just use the "1 cup" measuring cup for dry ingredients for both the powder mix and the milk. The recipe says it makes about 14 pancakes but whenever I make them with the dry ingredients cup I only get about 8 or 9 and they are always so thick. But today I used my measuring cup for wet ingredients and the batter so much thinner and it made the perfect amount and the best tasting pancakes! Just like at a restaurant!

So my lesson is learned (yet again) ...use the right type of measuring cup!

39 Weeks

As of yesterday Hannah is 39 weeks along in my belly! I can't believe that I have been pregnant that long. It's amazing to me how God forms them from practically nothing into these beautiful little babies. Hannah moves in there so much and I can feel her different body parts so distinctively that its easy to imagine how she's laying and what she's doing...the only thing I can't picture yet is her beautiful little face.

I know that in a VERY short time she will be here and our lives will never be the same! I try to imagine our house with 2 little ones but I am so limited in my imagination! I picture doing this or doing that with Hannah here...we'll see what it really ends up being like.

Save some money!

I love good deals! If I'm going to order something online I typically check several sites to compare prices and shipping before I order to be sure that I get the best deal I can. And with that I LOVE to use coupons and save even more money! My friend told me about this site she uses to find coupon codes for online stores and I'm addicted! I've gotten great discounts on several different sites. The site with the codes is RetailMeNot.com. I just ordered the replacement glass for the shelf I broke in the fridge on Monday and I found a coupon code on retailmenot.com that saved me 20%! :)

Maybe I've told you about this before...I can't remember...but either way it's worth mentioning over and over again! Hope you find some great deals using the site too!

Too many drive thru's?

Ok, so I've probably gone through too many drive thru's! Whenever we pull up to one Abby always says "Coke?" And when she sees a bag (any bag) that resembles a fast food bag she always says "Fry!" "Fry!" over and over again until she either gets one or I tell her there are non.

The other day we went to a bagel store for breakfast and she walked up to the counter and said "Coke, fry, coke, fry". I thought it was so funny...but scary! Yeah I think I've gone through too many drive thru's with her!

38 week appointment

Well I had another weekly visit to the doctors today. I didn't get to see my regular midwife but thankfully got an appointment with another one. She said that I've not progressed any more in regards to dilating and softening...still at 2cm dilated and 50% softened.

Today she did a procedure called "stripping my membranes". I know that sounds so gross but it's simply separating the membrane of the cervix from the membrane of the placenta. (You can click here for more details if you're really interested). When you know what it is, its not as gross sounding - at least I think so. Anyway, this is known to help things move along a bit more because it tends to give you stronger contractions. At this point I'm still pretty comfortable, but I am having some stronger contractions. (Thankfully). I plan to start doing some good walking in the evenings with Abby too...as long as the weather is cool :)

Last week when I went to the doctors the midwife I saw made it sound like I could have Hannah at any minute vs. the midwife today was much more conservative. So I'm going to go with this midwife and say I'll probably be at my appointment next Wednesday.

The Beach Club

Abby and I had a WONDERFUL day today down at The Beach Club near my sisters house. I really wanted to take Abby one more time before Hannah came and play with her cousin Renee...not sure if we'll make it down again after she is born or not. We might in a few months, but I was glad we could go today. And I'm glad that Erin could come with Kate since they are, you know, moving to Texas and all!

One of those days....Part 2!

You know, I would be happy with the broken shelf as my only big problem today. But no, it is really just one of those days for me. I decided I should FINALLY get my car washed today and so off Abby and I went.

I grabbed my purse, Abby's snacks, a drink for her and a bottle of water for me. When I got to the car wash I pulled out my wallet and it was all wet! The cap on the bottle came off and spilt water (not all of it just a bit) but that bit was just enough to mess with my phone! It still turns on and off but when I go to dial a number it dials all three numbers in that row!

Anyway, I'm hoping it'll dry out and work but I'll tell you it's just added to my "wonderful" day.

One of Abby's best friends is moving to Texas in a matter of weeks so we are getting together for play dates every chance we get. I took a few pictures of them playing together the other day. I thought I would share them :)

Big Shoes to Fill

One of those days...

Ok, so I woke up this morning just not feeling right. Just in a weird mood that I just want to sit around and do nothing. I would normally go to my moms house for a little while when I feel this way but she's out of town. So I decide, I'm going to be productive today anyways. My kitchen is a big mess and I thought I would clean it up...including the fridge. There's old food that needs cleaned out and while I'm in there I thought i would just clean the inside too.

So, I started with the shelf that goes on the bottom of the fridge part (the one on top of the drawers). I took it out, sat it in the sink, closed the fridge and went back & picked up the piece of glass..and what happens? It EXPLODES! I'm not talking about a little crack here..I simply picked it up with one hand and BOOM! There are a million pieces of glass ALL over my kitchen...even went down my shirt! Sounds like fun huh? Especially on a day that I feel like just sitting on the couch to start with!

Oh well. I guess I'll just have to take the day as it comes! :)

Contraction Master

I found this cool site that I plan to use when I start having a good number of contractions that I need to time. It's called Contraction Master and all I have to do is push the spacebar when it starts and when it stops :) And since I have a laptop it's actually practical for me to use!
